El Salto symbolizes a diver’s faith, strength, and courage in
the midst of all challenges and inspires me to live a healthy and full life.

LOGO

Utilizing the figure from the far right third panel, “the diver” was created by removing the figure from the canvas and suspending him in mid-air, tucking the legs slightly behind the body as if initiating a swan dive, lifting the torso, and extending “the diver’s” arms and hands to reach out to the people of the World while graphically illustrating triumph over perceived unhealthy limitations imposed by family, friends, and society.  An unintimidating strong iconic figure, “the diver” was created so that all people will be able to recognize and accept “the diver” as the vessel of health and compassion.  Through “the diver”, LIVE Consortium will strive to communicate and educate all people that every individual, regardless of status or health challenge, can have the opportunity to live a healthy and full life.

Symbolizing health, hope, faith, confidence, strength, perseverance, independence, the ability to struggle with adversity and survive, being positive and healthy (body, through form, is a plus sign), heroism, self-confidence, intelligence, and ability to be bold, “the diver” represents diving, flying, breaking away, breaking free, actively resisting pressures of society, being proactive, healthy, moving forward, leading, taking the plunge, living life, vitality, taking risk, engaging inner struggles, committed to overcoming exterior obstacles, human vulnerability, and the strength and courage within each of us.

Meanings

Water and the sea often represent the unconscious.  Diving into water symbolizes your decent into the unconscious.  You are getting in touch with the deepest strata of your being. Alternatively, the dream may be telling you to take a chance concerning an issue from waking life.  It’s time to ‘take the plunge’.

There are many myths that tell of heroes who dive to the bottom of the sea and bring up great treasure. In dreams this represents the ego descending into the unconscious and finding the self.

To dream of flying is usually a pleasant experience and is accompanied by a sense of exhilaration and freedom.  It usually feels completely natural as if we have somehow always known how to do this.  Rarely is the dream accompanied by a fear of heights or of falling.  Flying may symbolize liberation from something that's been troubling you.  The obstructions and shackles that have held you down have been released and you can now experience the same sense of freedom that we see in the birds that soar in the sky.  The sky may symbolize consciousness and spirituality so to dream of flying can represent the expansion of your awareness and the unfolding of your higher self.  (Freud of course took a more materialistic view:  to him flying dreams represented sexual release.)
